General Auditions and Meetings with our Artistic Director

Quest typically posts our notice of General Auditions and/or Meetings with our Artistic Director around April or May. These auditions/interviews are open to Equity and Non-Equity performers, directors, creators, puppeteers, artist/instructors, composers, designers, stage managers, and others! Priority will be given to artists currently living in Calgary, currently living in Alberta, and people we have not met before.

If you are interested in General Auditions or having a 15-minute Meeting with the Artistic Director, please send a cover email, resume and headshot at any time to artistic-director@questtheatre.org to be considered for our next round of Generals.

Quest Internship

Quest’s General Internship opportunity is open to any BFA Drama graduate or equivalent. Spend 15 weeks between January and April 2025 with us! Roll up your sleeves and get to know how a small theatre company operates.  Get trained in our School Residency program, support drama camps, be a part of putting together productions for young people and lean into your interests in arts administration or artistic creation. Many of our former Interns still accept weekly contracts with Quest while being active in the Calgary theatre sector. An invaluable hands-on experience for anyone thinking of going into theatre in any capacity.

If you are interested in applying for the Quest Internship, please send a letter of interest articulating why you think you would be a good candidate, and what area of theatre for young audiences, arts administration, or drama education you are interested in learning about.  Please attach a resume with related theatre experiences (work, volunteerism, theatre, everything!) to Artistic Director Nikki Loach at artistic-director@questtheatre.org

Quest is happy to receive submissions from playwrights for our consideration. Please submit your play to artistic-director@questtheatre.org to start a discussion.  Quest also has a long history of supporting TYA play development. Speak to our Artistic Director about the resources Quest can offer to explore, test, or advance your TYA creation.

We are blessed to have a beautiful rehearsal hall at cSPACE. If you are looking to create or develop your own work and need a space, please contact Nikki Loach, our Artistic Director at artistic-director@questtheatre.org and see if our space might be available.  A preference is given to independent artists developing theatre for young audiences, but Quest is proud to be a contributing partner to our theatre community and we welcome any independent theatre artist with a need.

Our space is 30’ x 27’.  The space typically has 25’ x 25’ of usable space as it stores chairs, tables, shelves, pipe and drape and other useful creation stuff.
