35/50 Initiative

Over the past several months, the unified call around the world for equity and diversity has touched all facets of life, including arts communities. Like many other cities, our local theatre community is passionately urging arts organizations to accelerate change for BIPOC and women or non-binary artists across the sector through the 35//50 Initiative. As a leader in the Calgary arts sector, we acknowledge and support the 35//50 Initiative.

Encouraging community is not only a long held value at Quest Theatre, but also a source of great artistic inspiration. In order to create meaningful and relevant work, it is important that we expose young people to diverse artists, cultural viewpoints, and a myriad of human perspectives. Diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility are important pieces in our role of sharing theatrical stories that promote a happy, healthy and inclusive society for everyone.
